Difficulty Level[]

Very Easy

Supplies Needed[]

  • white skirt
  • black Tulip fabric dye
  • 1/4 cup of salt
  • 10-20 rubber bands, depending on length of skirt

Directions[]

1.) Scrunch the skirt up vertically and tie rubber bands down it, each a couple of inches apart. 2.) Then, add the skirt to the washing machine along with the fabric dye and 1/4 cup of salt. Put the water on the highest setting, and if you want a black color instead of gray, boil the water on the stove first. The warmer the water, the darker the color. 3.) Put on light wash for about an hour. 4.) Take the skirt out and dry it, either on a clothesline or on low heat.
